The Paleo Diet is more than a simple food fad- it is a complete regimen of healthy living. Being Paleo means eating foods our bodies evolved to eat, foods that are nutritionally dense and prepared as nature intended. The diet emphasizes quality meats and fish, lots of veggies, healthy fats, and a little bit of fruit and starches. It entirely avoids grains, legumes, dairy, and modern processed foods. Yep, that means no bread, no potato chips, and no soda.
You've probably heard that, on the Paleo Diet, you can only eat what cavemen ate 20,000 years ago.
Well, yes and no.
let's be honest - we don't know what cavemen really ate. With no corner grocery around, they probably ate their own Poop just to stay alive.
(For the record, Paleo Pit Stop does not recommend eating your own Poop.)
Instead, let's picture the lifetime of homo sapiens as a football field. We've been eating a hunting/gathering diet for the first 95 yards, and only in the last 5 have we invented agriculture and modern processing procedures.
Unfortunately, our anatomy is still hardwired for those first 95 yards. It can't cope with the heavily processed foods we stuff it with now.
How do we know? There are numerous studies showing the harmful effects of our modern, western diet.

The science is clear: we are killing ourselves. The Paleo Diet looks at what we are designed to eat, what causes the least inflammation and disease, and recommends food accordingly. It takes us back to those first 95 yards, where we're anatomically suppose to be.
